There Be Changes Here- Coming 2016!!

You may have been wondering what on earth is going on with this gnomey blog. 

I would like to be updating it regularly but with some unexpected adjustments in our home and on the family front, I have let go of that updating piece of bloggy-goodness and I've been sticking to tending the growing needs of my sweet kiddos, the animals, making art and creating those daily gnomes that keep me sane. 

There are changes coming to the blog- they won't be too overwhelming (I hope) but I have long had a hankering for a new approach to the blogging piece; a new way of going through this blogging experience.

If you want to keep track of daily gnomes, I often post them on Instagram which you can either follow me on by clicking here OR you can visit me here on the blog and look at the recent photos that scroll by on the right in my Instagram feed. There is also the option of visiting my website www.themoongoat.com where you can also see my gallery and check out recent Instagram-ed gnomes. 

I know, that isn't quite as rockin' as sitting down and creating a blog post with clearer, higher quality photos and a little bit about that particular gnome. But I have had to make some time choices and the daily gnome (of course) had to stay in tact while I had to make a choice about the blogging. That said-- I have something in the works for a new (and improved?) blog in 2016. I'll announce it once I've got things up and running.

In the meantime, you can always email or peruse the archives of gnomes, knowing that everyday (well, pretty much) I sit down and make that daily gnome to lift me up, settle my soul and keep my rhythm.......

2015 A Gnome A Day - Day 276

This little gnome is quite a sweetie- he actually loves sweets themselves (perhaps that adds to his sweetness?)- apple pie, donuts, cookies, cupcakes- any sweets fall under the umbrella of his favorites. 

He is quite a giggler and oh so jolly!

Another gnomeling came along and I have to say that this one loves the ocean. He dreams of it often and when he was older he will spend his days tending marine life and sailing the wide, wild waters of the sea.....

Okay this is yet another birthday gnome- a celebration of Virgos! This is a fellow with a little extra "umph" he is green, green, green! He loves Nature- hiking, walks, kayaking and just basking in the green glow of the forest. He's quite joyful....

2015 A Gnome A Day - Day 256

Again that delicious Peace Fleece! This time for her big chunky braids. This gnome was made at Fiber College at Searsport Shores Campground. What a fun adventure it was! And this girl with all her sass and attitude and will to create came along on the very last day of that magical adventure....

She is quite sure of who she is!

I love this wool! It's Peace Fleece that I pick up when I'm down at PortFiber in Portland, ME. I had to make a tiny gnomeling with it. This little fellow loves cats- he can't help but giggle when he sees one. He loves the orange tabbies especially and stares at them for hours while they sleep in the sun......

This gnome is a special birthday gnome for a very special person! He has a very special gift with animals of all kinds and can speak every animal language in the world. Animals are drawn to him and always find peace in his presence.....

2015 A Gnome A Day - Day 253

Okay, those orange braids got me! I can't help it, I just love that red hair so much! And of course I had to make them big thick braids. This gnome loves long walks in the woods- usually barefoot on moss where she can feel the earth beneath her feet and really get in touch with her roots.

Okay, so it is getting colder here- mostly at night but the trees are turning- just a bit and we all know what comes next-- a riot of color and cool magical breezes that suggest that as earth bound as we humans are, we may just be able to take flight of our own accord after all.

This gnome reminds me of someone but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's an older gentleman and I can't decide whether it is a character I saw in a movie once or a person I know from my childhood. In any case, this fellow has a jolly laugh and tends to sing, constantly. He's quite fun to hang out with!

An Adjustment- Wait, Where's Day 203?

There is a certain amount of fallibility in being a human. 

This is something we all know, of course-- and today I discovered a mistake. 

Because I am not a particularly mathematically, sequentially- minded person who could figure out where the error occurred, I am going to make an adjustment instead of possibly drive myself crazy trying to find the error (with my current schedule I might go crazy-- or, rather, crazier :)

Somewhere- I suspect it was during vacation or somewhere in recent weeks- I must have missed or skipped a day. I don't recall this happening but I periodically check a website to see if my Day #'s line up with the correct Day #'s of the year (i.e. that Day #100 is, in fact, the 100th day of the year). Apparently, somewhere since the last time I checked and now, I am off by one day. I really think it happened while I was road tripping but I am not sure. So this is an adjustment post to correct the missing Day #.

Day 202 should be Day 203- that's what I understand so that means that posts from this point forward will be corrected and perhaps someday I will get my mathematically, logically-minded brother to run through this and find the error.....

As I have said so many times in my life (and will likely continue to say): "If there's one thing I seem to be good at, it's being human- so very human.....mistakes and bumbles, trips and falls and all....."

It was at the end of a day where we got a nice bit of rain that this gnome was made. I was still on my road trip/vacation jig and this gnome? He's is quite a traveller. He loves to canoe and hike, run and dance and he is fluent with too many languages to name....
