This fellow was made last night, the Eve of Winter Solstice.
We watched Dolphin Tale 2 and I suddenly felt that deep reminder of how we are so not alone by any means, on this planet and are, in fact, surrounded by a bounty of co-inhabitants that I suspect we do not show enough respect for.
It seems silly that this movie would do that, but it did. It made me think of the deer and bears, moose and skunks, squirrels and opossums, crows and snapping turtles and so many more non-domestic animals that live all around my family and they go about their lives without the recognition of the gifts their presence on this planet brings to the collection of life that we are all a part of.
This gnome is a helper of all animals- especially ones that may be forgotten by others. He is the one that will step in and give the love and care that each creature needs.What a gift......
