2014 A Gnome A Day- Day 78

Oh my! The last two days I have made gnomes in the very early morning before children rise and before I am off to work. Then, today, I awoke with that feeling that the cold I have been fighting off was, perhaps, not going to be so easy to get rid of as I had hoped (even with all my vigilant hand washing!!). Scratchy throat, a touch of the dizzies and that nasty cold feeling when you take a deep breath- oh no! It was time for hot lemon and honey and gobs and gobs of tea.

I dragged myself up out of bed and went to workout (I find it seems to shorten the length of an illness if I'm working out regularly even if I'm a little down some days and have to take it slower). Then I tucked in for some gnome making and was off to work feeling like I might, after all, be on an upswing. I have a tendency to get only a little sick- the kind of sick where you feel pretty yucky but not ill enough to really justify taking a day in bed- not yet. The kind of sick when, if you keep moving you might just make it through without having to go face down. So I planned to sleep during my lunch hour to restore myself as much as possible and then return to work with a smile, feeling much better.

As it was, my afternoon got cancelled and I was blessed with an afternoon that held the opportunity to sleep. Sweet sleep! The only downside was my inability to actually doze off!! Oh well, it was well intentioned and I did stay down and hopefully upon waking tomorrow I will feel renewed and well (please!)

So, there is a gnome for today, tucked away in my kit ready to be posted but I promised myself that the only work I would do would be on the computer, preferably in between some nourishing napping.
Today's gnome is wearing a red hat like yesterday's and I'm certain he's here to energize me and get me nourished and ready to flourish once more but in the meantime, I'm going to try to get some more rest and hopefully a little of that resisting shut-eye. Here's to the little healing gnome of the day.....
