2014 A Gnome A Day- Day 86
Last night, all tucked into the couch I started gnoming. I've discovered this year that gnoming in the morning is my favorite- it's a good start to the day. I set out for work with a sense that I have accomplished something. What a lovely experience!
My second daughter, the third child, chose a delicious color recently at a jaunt down to visit one of our favorite fiber places: Portfiber. She picked it up and said, "Mom, let's get some of this! It's so pretty, isn't it?" Though I was not immediately grabbed by it, I agreed- the enthusiasm in her voice put me over the top (she is not as interested in felting as my other two daughters) and I grabbed some. It proved to be a wonderful idea. I ended up needing it to accentuate some banner tiles for a custom order and without I don't know if any other color would have fit. She beamed when I thanked her for having such a good eye.
So, when I sat down to gnome it up last night after a busy but deeply satisfying day, I pulled out that pale greenish, bluish, turquoisey roving and marveled at it. At first glance I would have passed it by but I suddenly couldn't get enough of it. Be prepared- I am officially addicted to that color (I apologize in advance). In fact, after I had dressed this little gnome girl, I put her hat on and realized it needed polka dots- yes, again, I couldn't help it. Another new trend you can now expect.
Well, here she is- spunky and funny and, I am sure, excellent with the winged creatures of our world.....
