2014 A Gnome A Day- Day 88

We are about to get snow- again. There is constant conflict between the weather websites. While one says "less than an inch accumulation" another says "1 to 3 inches", then an additional "3 to 5" at night and an again "1 to 3" the following day. If the less alarming report is correct we may get around an inch by Monday but if the more alarming report is correct, we could get up to 11 inches of ice, snow and sleet by Monday afternoon. The other sites fall somewhere in between with their reports. So, we will just have wait it out.

Today looks lovely- the sun rose with color and warm light and I settled it to make the morning gnome. It sets the tone of the day now, that morning time of making a gnome. It's another girl, after so many years of people asking why there are so few girl gnomes, I'm afraid they may come begging for the bearded boy gnomes.

This girl is wearing that pale green turquoisey color that I certainly do not have enough of and that lovely "swan blue" that I adore. I left the red in the kit (very reluctantly, mind you) and reached for the green instead. And, yet again, there are polka dots involved.

She is peppery and funny and impish and, I believe, has an affinity for trees and their care. She nestled right into my new plant venture; a painted maple, to check out the buds that are (hopefully) prepping to burst open for a stunning show of orange.....
