A Gnome A Day- Day 118

This is an interesting day in the Gnome A Day Project. You see, I was prepping for a big May Day celebration at a local Waldorf school- it was a flurry of finishing new tapestries and finding frames and then using a new technique to frame them- go-go-go-go!! All the time- waking at 5:30, heading to water aerobics and then straight to work on new tapestries and fair preparation. Making sure all the gnomes are labeled and the new business cards are ready- you can imagine- add to that the work we are doing to the kitchen floor and the chaos that creates and the homeschooling!! My head spins just thinking about it!!
Imagine my absolute HORROR when I woke up the morning of the fair to the single horrifying thought- "you didn't make a gnome yesterday." I searched my memory in horror- surely I had done it- I had been felting for a good 12 hours the day before- of course I made one- but NO! I hadn't. I have been sick and missed but to FORGET and miss a gnome- oh dear- that has only happened on Day 11.
I rolled over to look at my husband and whispered, "I can't believe it, I forgot to make a gnome- all that chaos and all that felting and no gnome."
He looked at me confused- "But you did make a gnome."
Now I was confused, "What? What do you mean? I didn't, really- it was a gnomeless day!"
He grinned, "You made that gnome tapestry, remember? You said you would make one gnome a day for the year- you didn't specify that it would be sculpture instead of a tapestry. Don't worry, you did make a gnome."
I smiled so broadly my cheeks hurt. So, here is the gnome of the day for Day 118- yes, unusual since a gnome is usually a three-dimensional thing but he is indeed a gnome- and a jolly, playful glee-filled gnome. In fact, the moment he went up on the fabric walls at the fair, someone walked right up and bought him for their child's wall. Oh those gnomes, they are hard to resist!!
(this rather out of the ordinary gnome was made on May 4th and posted up later)
