2014 A Gnome A Day- Day 64

After the gnome lapse on Tuesday I knew it was time to take my breaths and get my butt in gear. This fellow came along because I couldn't stop thinking of crocuses. Living so far north, we haven't seen any here yet but my dear friends back in the luscious and lovely Pacific Northwest told me of the daffodils and crocuses peeking out from the earth and the smell of hope in the air. That got me thinking of Spring in our little noisy cottage in the city that we left nearly two years ago. I could see the purple crocuses in our yard back then poking their heads up signifying Spring, followed shortly thereafter by the lovely scent of the evergreen Clematis creeping lusciously over the porch. Ah spring!!

So this fellow is a crocus gnome- he loves them and he reminds us of the hope of Spring and the shifts as we all come back to life one petal at a time. This gnome is also a first ever in the whole project- I started him in the middle of the day Wednesday when I had some time to get him going but then it was time for work and I had to leave. It was only after I woke up the following day that I realized that he was still incomplete (it had been another late night of getting home at 9pm)- his hat was attached but needed firming and he needed his beard and eyes so he was a partial gnome of the day- one might say it was a long labor.....

This gnome was made March 5, 2014
Finally! photos, well, one photo- there are camera issues in the house so I only got one in focus shot out of the entire photo shoot. Ouch!
