2014 A Gnome A Day- Day 108

It was a surprise morning off and since the afternoons on Friday are usually available for errands and appointments, it ended up being an extra "free" day. What a welcomed treat! Time with family seems to be fleeting these days and in the face of a free morning we dropped our ancient gnome-mobile (an old minivan) off at the garage for a check up and headed to the big city. It was a day of visiting the Art Museum and then a trip to Trader Joe's and (of course) a stop at Portfiber to visit and pick up some new colors.

The children had done extra chores here and there and had earned a little extra money that they happily spent on wool with the friendly and supportive assistance of the owner Casey. Then it was off for some more groceries and then home.

In our travels we collected some treats for the weekend, learned about an amazing ashram with all sorts of retreats and workshops on a donation basis and I splurged on a new book from Nikki McClure, one of my all time favorite artists. It is called Collect Raindrops.

And this wonderful Friday started with the creation of this simple girl. She is somehow quiet. She doesn't stand out with extra decoration or bright colors, she is just who she is and that is what makes all of us beautiful.......
